A Memory of Light
A Memory of Light was the fourteenth and final book in The Wheel of Time series. The Wheel of Time series was started by Robert Jordan and continued by Brandon Sanderson after Jordan passed away. It was fantastic. From the moment you start reading it the pace just grows faster and faster as events unfold and long anticipated sequences finally take place. Sanderson does an excellent job at telling the fast paced story without confusing the readers. I had many different responses to the events of the book, sometimes glad that something had happened, and quite a few moments where I was saddened by a character death or other event in the book. It was good though, I was only disappointed once throughout the course of the book. This disappointment came at the end. I sort of wish that we would have received a little more information on what happened to the characters after the final battle. As it is I guess that I will always be wondering. On a side note the epilogue was written by Robert Jordan, the late original author of the series, and it was good to see that because it makes me feel as though Sanderson was ending it exactly how Jordan would have wanted. A Memory of Light is a thrilling conclusion to an epic series.
I generally do a little “what is to come” section at the end of my reviews, this time however I am going to keep it brief. Tarmon Gai'don has come. The final battle has started.
My rating for A Memory of Light is 5/5.
