True Miracles was originally written in . It was written in high school English as an in-class personal response to the movie "The Green Mile". In the time since it was written the story has received only minor edits, meaning that the version provided here is basically the same as what was submitted to my teacher so long ago. In the story a young soldier tries to save his injured and dying friend by turning to a young woman, whom the church calls evil, for help. This young woman is considered unnatural because she can heal those whom others would leave for dead. This story was published in the Grip magazine, a magazine which is published and distributed in Alberta. View True Miracles.
Inner Fires was originally written in around four hours near the end of . When I started writing it my goal was to speak my feelings towards someone I knew, but the story quickly gained a life of its own. It evolved into something more than my simple message to her; it became a story, one of my personal favorites in fact. In the story a mercenary tries to protect his lover, but is too late. The story was published in the CBE anthology Endless Possibilities; Endless Possibilities was printed to showcase the writing and art of students at Calgary high schools. View Inner Fires.
Life’s Blood was written in . It was written for a competition; the challenge was to write a short story about relationships, it could be any sort of relationship between people, and it had to be fewer than 1000 words. When I finished the story I found to my dismay that it was in fact longer than 1500 words. I tried to shorten the story but was unsuccessful in the endeavour, as result I never actually entered the contest. In the story a ghostly older brother does his best to protect his younger sister when she is in peril. View Life’s Blood.
Halfmoon is my most recent project. In it a knight is tasked with retrieving a precious relic from an enemy fortress; his only companion in his quest is a young mage whom he loves. Everything seems to be going perfectly, but then things start to go wrong, horribly wrong. View Halfmoon.
