At the Right Time
The mountainous clouds swirled so far above, their darkened canyons running like cracks across the stormy surface. Amidst the peaks a hole opened up; and through that gap gleamed golden light, the last light of the day. It shot out through the sky lighting the canyons on fire and reflecting across the shimmering water so far below. The scent of rain filled the air as the breeze picked up.
Trees swayed in the chilly wind as I turned around, my eyes tracking those rays across the sky. High above that light a rainbow stood proud, faintly visible against the clouds.
Vaguely I wondered where that rainbow ended; even though I knew logically one could never find the tail end the idea intrigued me so I fixated on that. The thought swirled in my mind as I watched the rainbow fade away.
The air darkens around me as the clouds at my back close around the sun. The loss of the sun left me in twilight; it was an ominous lighting, the sort you'd expect before everything goes wrong. I do not fear that future though. In spite of everything I have faith that events will unfold to their greatest potential.
Just like this evening; when I first came out here I didn't expect to see such an incredible view, but it just worked out. I had the right timing, the right mood and the right place to witness that sunset.
Somethings just happen.
