A Note: Guardians and the Future
Ever wonder if somewhere out there you have a guardian? It could be anything depending on what you believe in. Maybe a guardian angel, friendly alien, benevolent spirit, the idea that the good you do for others will keep you safe or maybe the belief that the universe itself is protecting you.
I mean, come on. All of us have those little delusions don't we? I think we do, even if we won't admit it. And the worst are those of us who are young. They just believe they are invincible. They don't need somebody to protect them since through all that comes they believe they will remain safe. They cannot be hurt.
That, of course, is not true. We all can get hurt. It just takes the right circumstance.
Still some of us bounce back faster than others. Maybe they are the ones who have those 'guardians'. Or they could just be lucky. Who can say for sure? Maybe there really is a great tapestry of fate as the ancient Greeks believed; it could be that we're all part of a grand design and that anything which happens is preordained. Thing is, whether or not there is, it wouldn't matter to us since we don't see the whole picture. We only see our small section of it. So as we make our choices we don't realize that we're doing as was foretold.
If the future were mapped out then anything we did would already be on the tapestry, so even if we tried to avoid doing as was foretold we would still end up acting as predicted.
That makes sense to me anyways.
Not that I necessarily believe that the future is already mapped out. I'm just saying that it might as well be. It wouldn't make a difference either way.
In that way the future could be regarded as whatever you make it, because even if there is already an outline for the future you will be acting as has been foretold.
As for guardians? Maybe they do exist. Or maybe they don't. Either way does it really matter?
